The Balance

It is an open space,
where I do not lose my way,
nor lose the “self” I’ve fought to keep.
A warmth that does not burn,
a presence, quiet and deep.

You are magnetic,
yet you do not pull or strain;
an intensity that carries
no urgency, no weight, no pain.

And for once, the known is kind—
a quiet, steady light.
It is familiar, finally,
in a way that feels safe tonight.
